Girl soldiers

In all developed societies, it is considered "child exploitation" if school-age children are forced to work. However, even today in several war torn zones, like Sudan, many children are not only denied access to education, but are forced to take up arms and fight. To facilitate its work, much has been said of the efforts undertaken to eradicate the shameful situation of children in military service. Paradoxically, little is said about the double tragedy of girls who are purchased, abducted or who voluntarily join these armies. Added to the harsh and degrading life on the front and in the camps, are the difficulties encountered to rehabilitate and reintegrate them with their families. It is the tragic situation of "girl soldiers" that is the issue in this documentary. The protagonist is Zindia, a girl who, with four children, has left the army after the death of her husband, the commander of the unit where he served. The despicable image of child soldiers in contrast to the usual cliché of children in developed societies. Girl soldiers brandishing a weapon during the day and then forced into prostitution to satisfy the soldiers is not only reality in Sudan. It is a fact that is repeated unfailingly in all current battlefields while first-world societies pretend that it doesn't concern us directly; we simply condemn it and look the other way.kl
